Good to know
While antique and atmospheric, The Painted Lady also boasts modern amenities to make your stay both memorable and comfortable. Hang out in the well-equipped kitchen, play a Victorian-themed game or cards in the parlor or library and sip a hot beverage from the many porches. There are three spacious bedrooms upstairs. The queen bed, full bed and two twin beds round out the sleeping situation. Each bathroom has a soaking tub and the upstairs also has a large shower. Additionally, there is fiber internet and a dedicated office area for those working during their stay.
Other Details to Note
We want our guests to have a great experience. Part of that is managing expectations around what to expect when staying in an old house. Old houses are built differently than modern homes. Stair steps tend to be steeper, you might hear a window rattle and feel a draft when the wind blows. It is necessary to climb steps and walk over uneven ground to enter the house. To get to the bedrooms, you must climb another set of steps. We are unable to install baby gates at the stairs and therefore discourage families with children who require baby gates to be safe from staying here. The house is not childproof and the minimal railings and lack of baby gates makes it inappropriate for young children. If you have any questions about this, please ask!

Accessibility and Availability
Neighborhood
The Painted Lady sits on a residential street of mixed housing. Down the block is a nice park and Lafayette County Memorial Hospital. We are an easy walk to downtown Lexington or the Battle of Lexington State Park.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire house with the exception of the basement, attic and garage. Don't worry, none of these locations are at all interesting and we don't want to accidentally lose you in the garage.
